Tendon Injuries
When tendon injuries are bad enough they require tendon surgery. Tendons connect the muscles to bones. When the tendons in the hand are cut or torn, it can be difficult to bend or move the fingers. A complete tear will not heal on its own and in most cases, tendon surgery is needed to repair damaged tendons. Dr. Rubinstein can diagnose tendon injuries during a physical examination and may order an x-ray to confirm the diagnosis. Tendon surgery is an outpatient procedure, and most patients will need to wear a splint to help the tendon heal following the procedure.
