Ganglion Cysts

Ganglion cysts most often form at the wrist and ankle joints. They look like a large bubble or bump and contain a clear, jelly-like material that is not harmful or dangerous. They often cause some pain, especially when the underlying joint is moved. To alleviate the pain, ganglion cysts can be aspirated by Dr. Rubinstein during an in-office treatment. There is a chance that the cyst will spontaneously rupture and disappear on its own, but they can also recur. Depending on its location, ganglion cyst removal surgery may also be an option. They are less likely to recur when they are treated surgically.
